What is Destiny 2: Into the Light?

Currently, there’snot a lot of informationon what Destiny 2: Into the Light really is. It’s a two-month content update that starts in April which leads us to Destiny 2: The Final Shape which now comes out on July 31, 2025, but what will happen during Into the Light?

Let’s start with what we know: in the blog, Bungie says Into the Light will“prepare players for their Guardian’s journey into the Traveler.”Beyond that, they mentioned more PvP updates, includingthree new PvP mapsthat will drop in May.

It’s also confirmed that Season of the Wish’s content will run from November to February. After we’ve experienced everything the team created for Season of the Wish, we’ll get weekly progression-based quests calledWishes. In March, we’ll getGuardian Gamesand April will give usInto the Light.

All of this is purely speculation on my part, butI doubt Into the Light will feature more story missions, a new Dungeon, or a new Raid. If I had to guess, Into the Lightcould include major updates to the subclassessimilar to how The Witch Queen started the rollout of Void 3.0, Arc 3.0, and Solar 3.0. I bet there will also be major updates to mods and Exotics, and during Into the Light, we’ll get a taste of how Episodes will work via teasers.

I very much doubt this will happen, but since the wording is “prepare players for their Guardian’s journey into the Traveler,”I would love to see old expansions, or a vast majority of old missions, be playable for all players. There’s something like this already in Destiny 2 now, but I would love full expansions to get unlocked for all players. That would be the best way to prepare everyone for the end.
