With 127 different echoes to collect and take advantage of in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it may be hard to keep track of which are best to use. While every echo has its own use (except maybe for the Beetle Echo), some are just a cut above the rest and make Echoes of Wisdom a fun, experimental entry into the Zelda franchise worth picking up.

Review: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

It’s called The Legend of ZELDA for a reason.

10Crow Echo

Rupees Galore

The Crow Echo is all about rupee collection. While it may take a while, as long as you have enemies to fight, the crow drops rupees with each enemy you defeat, providing a steady income stream. This feature is especially beneficial for players looking to upgrade equipment orget that expensive but essential item.Once a crow is defeated, Zelda can learn the echo from the shimmer it leaves behind.

9Water Block Echo

The World Is Yours

This echo defies the stereotype of gamers hating Zelda’s water levels, as this Water Block Echo is essential for navigating Hyrule’s aquatic and non-aquatic levels. By creating platforms on water surfaces, Zelda can cross rivers, lakes and other bodies of water that would otherwise stop her. But this echo really shines in areas where traditional methods of crossing are unavailable and the fun ofstacking again and again to make large watery tunnels to swim through cannot be beat. After beating Lord Jabu-Jabu, it can be found in the Stilled Jabul Waters.

8Pathblade Echo

Zelda’s Pro Skater

The Pathblade Echo gets all the style points, allowing Zelda to ride it like a skateboard and opens anew option for rolling around Hyrule quickly. This echo not only adds an element of speed to exploration, but also provides a fun and engaging way to navigate Hyrule’s terrains the likes Tony Hawk only dreamed of. You can unlock this echo through the A Rift In Gerudo Desert quest.

7Zelda’s Bed Echo

No Rest For The Wicked

You get it early and it never getstired. While meant for healing, it’s the ability totraverse otherwise inaccessible areas by stacking bed on bedthat makes this echo awesome. When used to actually rest, it restores two hearts a second, making it indispensable during prolonged expeditions or after a tough battle. Its dual functionality as both a restorative item and a hilarious platforming aid makes this a trademark echo for all players. Old bed for stacking and Zelda’s bed for healing. You can get this one in Zelda’s bedroom in Hyrule Castle.

6Freezard Echo

One Cool Echo

Sometimes the crowd can get a little too big and frantic. This is where the Freezard Echo excels by freezing enemies in their tracks and allowing precious time to react. By immobilizing foes, players can methodically eliminate them without being overwhelmed, leaning more into a Zelda-style of play of a Link-style.You can find this cold echo in Hebra mountain in cave 3 after beating up some Freezards.

5Fire/Ice/Electric Wizzrobe Echoes

Elements of a Great Game

The elemental Wizzrobe echoes – Fire, Ice and Electric – offer a magic bodyguard who will snipe bosses and enemies for you. With elemental knowledge, the player can deal with specific enemy weaknesses and environmental challenges. Whether setting foes on fire, freezing them or shocking them, these echoes provide tactical advantages in various combat situations. The Fire Wizzrobe Echo is found in the Eldin Temple, the Ice Wizzrobe Echo is in the northeastern water area of Hebra Mountains and the Electric Wizzrobe Echo is located in Faron Wetlands.

4Strandula/Crawltula Echoes

Crawl Just About Everywhere

While these are technically two different echoes, their similarity grants them the same spot on this list. For platforming through 2D parts and 3D parts of Zelda’s adventure, little beats a sturdy strand of webbing. While Crawtula and Strandula echoes can attack, Zelda can immediately reverse bond the summoned enemy, allowing Zelda to reach otherwise unreachable places early on. The Crawtula Echo can be found in the Suthorn Praries and the Strandula Echo can be found on the first floor of the Suthorn Ruins.

3Peahat Echo

Turn That Cheap Enemy Into A Cheap Friend

One of the best combat echoes out there is the Peahat Echo. This enemy has tormented Zelda players for so long but can now be used to the player’s advantage. Laugh maniacally as your Peahat buddy swarms the enemies around you delivering the pain Link has felt over decades back to moblins, bushes and crows. This awesome echo can be found in theSuthorn Forest Cave 3 by defeating the Peahat there.

2Roboboblin Automaton

Robobo-Cop

Wind em’ up and watch him tear them down. The range and power offered by the Roboboblin almost makes his addition unfair. His swing takes up almost the entire screen, punishing enemies who approach Zelda. While this ally is strong, the slowness of his strikes leaves a room for improvement, which is where the number one spot comes in. You’ll need to give Dampe the Heirloom Katana and the Sword Moblin Echo for this handy machine.

1Lynel Echo

OP Monster In Your Pocket

To no one’s surprise, the Lynel Echo is one of the most blood pressure-lowering allies to have on your side. Once summoned, itbowls into battle turning a decades-feared brute into your best friend. Its ability to take hits and hit for tons of damage is cathartic and fun to watch, demonstrating how fun it is to let your allies kick butt rather than grabbing the master sword and doing it yourself. Brave players can find this echo in the eternal forest by following its hoofprints and defeating it.
