This weekend,The Walking Deadwill return with the midseason premiereNo Way Out, airing Sunday, February 14 at 9 PM ET on AMC. The prologue of the midseason finale teased that the iconic villainNeganis coming, withJeffrey Dean Morgancast as this memorable character. It has been confirmed that Negan will first appear during the season finale, before becoming a series regular inSeason 7. Earlier today,Entertainment Weeklyreleased six collectible magazine covers featuring the stars of this hit show, whileAndrew Lincolnteased that the script for the season finale made him “sick.”
“I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script. It was the first day in the whole six years of working onThe Walking Deadthat I was late for work because I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn’t get back to sleep. I was so angry and frustrated and I felt sick. And that was just after reading it.”

While he wouldn’t shed any light on what happens in the finale, many fans are wondering if this episode will follow what happens when Negan is introduced inRobert Kirkman’scomics. This character is the leader of a group known as The Saviors, who Negan is introduced in the 100th issue ofThe Walking Deadcomics. That issue showed Negan and his group taking Rick and the Alexandrians by surprise, before choosing a random person to kill, Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), bashing him with his weapon of choice, a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire dubbed Lucille.Lauren Cohan, who plays Glenn’s wife Maggie, also revealed that theseason finalewas the toughest episode she’s ever had to shoot.
“[Hearing] the word ‘finale’ gives me a physical reaction because it’s the hardest day on set that I’ve ever had in my life. I never even imagined that as an actor you could have that experience. It’s one of the most raw experiences that I think any of us have ever had. Andy talks about being late to work; I didn’t want to go to work that day. It took a really, really long time for everybody to feel okay again after the finale, let’s put it that way.”

Fans are still reeling from the first half of this season, where Glenn fell into a zombie herd with Nicholas (Michael Traynor) in this season’s third episodeThank You. His fate was left unclear, but we found out a few weeks later inHeads Upthat he managed to escape alive, as he began his journey back to Alexandria with Enid (Katelyn Nacon). Towards the end of November’s mid-season finale,Start To Finish, we saw both Glenn and Enid scaling a tree near one of the Alexandria walls, althoughLauren Cohanteased that Maggie and Glenn won’t reunite right away, and when they do, it will be “overshadowed by darkness.” Do you think this means Glenn will actually die in theSeason 6finale?
