TT Games, Warner Bros. Games, and DC today announced their first new LEGO game in years,LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
More than three years after their last LEGO title,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, TT Games is back with a new take on LEGO Batman. Drawing from 86 years of Batman films, TV, comics, and games, TT Games is developing an ambitious action-adventure LEGO title that celebrates the long, storied legacy of the Dark Knight. The game launches in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

86 years in the making
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight picks up at the start of Batman’s journey training with The League of Shadows. From there, players are led through a story campaign where they’ll build a family of allies, confront the ever-growing threat of legacy Batman villains, and forge the legacy of Batman. Allies include well-established characters like Jim Gordan, Robin, Nightwin, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. Meanwhile, the rogues gallery includes classic villains like The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, Bane, and many more. As seen in the trailer, the game takes full advantage of Batman’s long history to recreate famous scenes and iconic moments from a wide variety of films.
“We are thrilled to announce LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a fantastic new game designed to entertain and provide enjoyment for every type of player,” said JB Perrette, President and CEO, Streaming & Games, Warner Bros. Discovery. “Our remarkable team at TT Games is working hard to deliver a fresh take on the beloved Batman universe, offering new and improved features beyond previous LEGO games that will excite both longtime fans and gamers of all levels.”

Much like other LEGO Batman titles, Legacy of the Dark Knight features an open-world playground filled with crimes, puzzles, rewards, and surprises to discover. You’ll get full access to Batman’s gadgets, allowing you to grapple, glide, or drive across the city. The Batcave also returns as a place for players to display their vehicles, trophies, collectibles, and an assortment of Batsuits.
“All of us at TT Games are incredibly proud to reveal LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a brand-new game that’s a real celebration of everything Batman,” saidJonathan Smith, Strategic Director & Head of Development Team, TT Games.“We take players on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the legendary hero of Gotham City, incorporating iconic moments from across Batman’s history with our special LEGO twist. Our all-new crime-fighting combat features are amazing fun and take LEGO gameplay to an entirely new level.”

LEGO Batman…Arkham?
Part of today’s reveal included a new combat system built from the ground up for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight that looks quite similar to the Batman Arkham franchise’s freeform combat. Legacy of the Dark Knight’s combat features fluid attack chains, counters, and takedowns with players able to throw in Bat-gadgets to distract or stun enemies. They’ll also be able to utilize the Batclaw to reel in enemies, which also sounds very similar to Arkham’s combat.
Players are led through a story campaign where they’ll build a family of allies, confront the ever-growing threat of legacy Batman villains, and forge the legacy of Batman.

As with other LEGO games, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight can be player solo or co-op with one other player. Each partner character will have their own signature gear, such as Jim Gordon’s foam sprayer, Robin’s line launcher, and Catwoman’s whip. However, unlike other games, Legacy of the Dark Knight will be the first to feature difficulties, allowing players to increase the challenge.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches sometime in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
