We may not have to wait very much longer to get out first look atTransformers: The Last Knight.Michael Bayand a very large crew are still hard at work filming the fifth installment of the insanelybankable franchise, but a trailer is on the way. With word coming straight from the director himself, we should be expecting a trailer for the movie as early as next month.
Earlier today,Michael Baydid a live broadcast on theTransformers’Facebookpage live from the set. The video was posted to celebrate the last day of filming in the U.K. for the movie and the director showed quite a bit of what was going on, including a bunch of guys dressed in medieval armor as if they were making aBraveheartsequel. More importantly,Michael Baygave an update as to when we can expect to see the first teaser forTransformers: The Last Knight. Here is what he had to say.
“Hopefully you saw some of our stuff and the internet and we’re gonna have a teaser coming out. Not sure if it’s going to be November or December.”
There was some speculation that a teaser for the fifthTransformerswould drop over the summer, perhaps with another Paramount movie likeBen-HurorStar Trek Beyond. That never came to pass, but we now know that we could finally be getting a look atTransformers 5within a few weeks. At the very latest, we will be seeing some footage from the movie before the end of the year, assumingMichael Bayis to be believed, which he probably should be. We still know very little in terms of confirmed plot details about the movie, but we know that it will involveKing Arthur, Merlin, Nazis andWinston Churchill, in addition to giant transforming alien robots. How or why all of those things are required for aTransformersmovie remains to be seen.
During the Facebook Live videoMichael Bayalso confirmed that bothJohn GoodmanandJohn Turturrowill be back for this installment, having both starred in previousTransformers movies. So in addition to a presumably totally bonkers plot, given the previously mentioned information we do have about the movie,Transformers: The Last Knightis also going to feature an absolutely stacked cast. Even thoughTransformers: Age of Extinctionlet a lot of fans down, at this point, it is hard not to get our hopes up at least a little bit. Or at the very least, it is tough not to be curious about how this movie is going to come together.
Mark Wahlberg,Tyrese GibsonandJosh Duhamelare also returning forTransformers: The Last Knightand they will be joined byIsabela Moner,Anthony Hopkins, Britain’s loneliest dogFreyaandPeter Cullenas the voice ofOptimus Prime.Transformers: The Last Knightis set to drop on August 14, 2025. We will be sure to keep you up to date as more information about the movie and the first teaser trailer become available.
