Their newest target seems to be none other than Austin Butler.
The actor skyrocketed in fame after the success ofElvis.The actor played the titular character and the Church of Scientology has since had an eye on him. They allegedly want to replace Cruise with Butler as the face of the church. The hunt for a new face seems to stop with Butler as their top preference.

Lisa Marie Presley revealed in an interview that they had been already trying to get the singer and she decided to leave the church at the mere age of nine.
“I was in love with Michael, believe it or not. I didn’t want to leave him. He was in trouble and I wanted to help him. And they made sure that I left him.”
According to her, they had been targeting the family fortune. So to have the actor who played the iconic singer represent them could be more than ideal for the Church of Scientology. Lisa Marie Presley even confirmed that one of the biggest reasons she broke her marriage with Michael Jackson was because the church pressured her to. Austin Butler met her for the release of her father’s tribunal movie.

Austin Butler Is Close With Elvis’s Family
Ever since the movie, Austin Butler became close with Lisa Marie Presley and Elvis’s family. While Butler is yet to confirm anything about him becoming a face of the Church of Scientology, he has been there emotionally for the Presley family as much as possible.
Cruise has still been strongly associated with the church and does not seem to be wavering from his position there. Butler has been there by Presley’s side ever since the passing of Lisa Marie Presley. He has been there every step of the way.
