There is so much high praise that can be said about Larian Studios' role-playing game based on Dungeons & Dragons, but I’ll let its 32 awards, including multiple Game of the Year titles do most of the talking. Launching into the world last year,Baldur’s Gate 3took the gaming world by storm, even throwing players unfamiliar with its genre into hundreds of hours of intense D&D mechanics and compelling, deep character cast.
As we enter into an era where live-action is being developed more and more, BG3 is never far from fans' lips as to whether it will also get the same treatment as the likes ofThe Legend of ZeldaorFallout, but one particular Baldur’s Gate 3 fan cast has made the fantasy fandom rage hotter than Karlach on a bad day.

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Fandom Takes Fan Cast’s Very Seriously
Posted on Twitter/X by self-proclaimed “professional astarion yapper"Marisa, a series of fan cast images are shown about which actors could play Baldur’s Cast 3 characters in a live-action movie. They show Bradley Cooper as Gale, Ryan Gosling as Astarion, Emma Watson as Minthara, and worst of all, Gina Carano as Karlach and while this is just a fan’s opinion about who they would want to see, Carano as Karlach really got the BG3 fan base more than a little angry.
One of the reasons for this is due to Carano’s previoustransphobic comments, among other right-winged views, and since Karlach is pansexual in the game and her voice actor Samantha Béart is queer and also non-binary, this would be an injustice to our lovably buff Tiefling Barbarian. “Gina Carano being mentioned in the same comment as Karlach makes me want to scream” cries Twitter user@subtlemurderr, while@silentxyqkstates, “Not Gina Carano playing a character voiced by an enby person.”

Carano wasn’t the only actor targeted, although for different reasons, as Ryan Gosling cast as Astarion was also a huge mismatch and just…no, as well as the usually quite tame Emma Watson as the fierce and firey Minthara.
Among the dislikes, Bradley Cooper did get a little love where some people said he could actually get away with portraying Gale, although, personally, nah. I think the only thing that Baldur’s Gate 3 could get away with would be an animated series rather than anything live-action - maybe something like Arcane would fit its style much better.
