Warrior Nunwas going to be followed up by a film trilogy expanding the lore of the original series. Although the movies essentially saved the franchise from dying, showrunner Simon Barry ended up leaving the project. A recent interview from the showrunner alleges that this was because the project in his opinion was a result of greed, which led to the film series as well.
