Developers of The Sinking City have revealed some gameplay for the investigative lovecraft title on the Nintendo Switch.

The Sinking City Developers Unveil Switch Gameplay

Earlier this year during the Nintendo E3 2019 Direct, developer Frogwares announced thatThe Sinking Citywould be coming to the Switch. However, no release date had been shared and further news of the port had not been followed up. But now a new video has been unveiled featuring some of the gameplay on the Switch.

After we got a chance to playThe Sinking Cityon PC, so it’s interesting to see how the narrative tale with some action combat would handle on a handheld device. In the video update, the devs share that their in the “final stages of production” which means the port doesn’t seem like it is far away from release.

It also dives into the changes and additions that will be coming with the Switch version. The Switch has received many ports for games over time and also includes definitive titles such as the upcomingthe Witcher 3, but not all are handled in a way that highlight’s the Switch’s best features.

However, it does look like Frogwares has take into the account what the Switch has to offer. You will be able to use the gyroscope function for aiming and touchscreen while using the casebook. The goal for the devs was to best keep the integrity of the visuals while offering the best experience. The Switch will run The Sinking City at 30 fps.

But there are also some improvements to the game, there were definitely some bugs when we played the PC version, with some minor combat gripes. But Frogwares says they have improved combat for a more satisfying experience with new sound effects as well as visuals, and have improved pedestrian AI. These are all welcome improvements in my book as seeing some AI run into walls during playthrough was a little immersion breaking.

The release date for the Switch has yet to be announced, but news of it’s release date will be shared next week according to Frogwares.
