The developers at Sylphannouncedthat they are offering their game on Steam for free to give it some much-needed visibility. They plan on adding more bosses and gauging players' interest in what kind of bosses they want to see next.
This isn’t just some little throwaway game, as Furi Demake currently has a “Very Positive” rating by Steam users. Given it’s a game based on 8-bit graphics, the system requirements are close to none. If your PC can handle browsers, chances are, your PC can handle the game. It has a 500MB disk space requirement for crying out loud!
This is a good move by the developers since snagging players is their primary objective. Once they like what they play, they might be more open to purchasing DLC for it in the future. Not to mention, word-of-mouth is the best form of advertising.
