More about Using Your Movement Skills Than Fighting

Benjy is a big catfish you need to face in Chapter 4. You will start this encounter by chasing Benjy, jumping from platform to platform, running on walls, and gliding through the air. The chase is not very fast, so focus on being careful with your jumps and movements. If you fall or make a mistake, you’ll need to start over, so precision is key. After the chase, you reach Benjy’s head, and the real fight begins. The good news is, Benjy doesn’t attack you during this part. Your job is to find the wound on Benjy’s head and attack it. It’s a simple fight, but you need to be precise in your attacks.

To beat Benjy, you need to be good at jumping, gliding, and running on walls. These skills are important when chasing him and during the fight. In the fight, make sure you’re focused on hitting the wound on Benjy’s head. Since Benjy doesn’t fight back, you have time to get your attacks right.

Two-Toed Tomshows up in Chapter 5, and, as a giant alligator, he’s one of the scariest creatures in the game. You don’t just meet him in one small area—he controls a big part of the swamp. He shows up at random times, which keeps you nervous because you never know when he’ll strike.

Review: South of Midnight

Compulsion Games deliver a fresh new world and intriguing story we won’t soon forget.

When you finally face him, Tom is huge but fast. He charges at you with quick bites, swings his massive tail, and sometimes vanishes into the swamp, only to attack from another spot. You have to stay on your toes and be ready for anything. He doesn’t follow a simple pattern, so you need to watch his moves and react quickly. And keep an eye on the church bell, so you know when to stun this giant Alligator and gain the upper hand. Taking down Two-Toed Tom is tough, but it’s also one of the most exciting parts of South of Midnight. The fight feels like a real battle of brains and reflexes.

Be Ready to Deal With His Minions

Kooshma is the last boss you will encounter in South of Midnight. At first, Kooshma doesn’t fight you directly. Instead, he sends his minions to attack you. You have to use Hazel’s weaving powers carefully to beat them. Then Kooshma shows up. He uses his tentacles to attack and can hit wide areas, you should be ready to dodge.

Three-Phase Fight with a Giant Owl

The fight withRougarouis in three parts, and each one adds something new. In the first part, the Rougarou jumps and lands near you a lot. Stay moving, or it’ll land on you. It also swipes with its

wings if you get too close. When it dives from above, a red circle shows where it will land—get out of that circle fast, because it leaves behind fire that slows you down.

In the second part, the Rougarou makes a big tornado. It’s hard to see, but its yellow eyes will glow just before it attacks. Watch the ground for a red circle and dodge to the side when it dives. It also adds a new move here—it breathes fire three times in a row. Dodge sideways to avoid getting burned. If you stay close to it, it might not use the fire breath as much. In the last part, the tornado comes back and the Rougarou uses the same moves as before.

It doesn’t learn anything new, but it gets faster, so you have to be ready. If you want the trophy called “An Owl for an Owl,” you’ll have to beat it without getting hurt. That means you have to know exactly when to dodge and when it’s safe to strike.
