Spoilers Ahead!!

Sonic Generations

After obtaining all the Chaos Emeralds in the White Space, Sonic and Tails (Modern and Classic) make their way to defeat the Time Eater. As they confront him, they find out that the Classic and Modern Eggman were pulling the strings of the Time Eater all along. Modern Eggman found the earlier form of the creature as he was floating through space following the ending of Sonic Colors. He recognized its great power, which was the ability to erase time and space, and wanted to use its powers to alter his past interactions with Sonic. Of course, he had to find someone who is as smart as him, hence why he abducted Classic Eggman after the first boss battle.

The final battle starts off poorly, as the Sonics are of no strength to take on the Time Eater in their current state. With the support of his friends, including Shadow the Hedgehog, and the power of the Chaos Emeralds, the Sonics transform into Super Sonics. The battle shifts to another dimension and the blue blurs take down the Time Eater. All the heroes return to the present moment, which, for Modern Sonic, was just in time to catch his chili dog.

Every Game Represented in Sonic X Shadow Generations

Sonic X Shadow Generations is an anniversary celebration for the Sonic series, and this list shows off each game that gets represented in it.

Shadow Generations

After opening the three eyes on the Black Arms satellite and obtaining all the Doom Powers given to him by Black Doom, Shadow is called upon by him to finally face off against him. Throughout the game, Shadow has taken on the powers that were given to him at his creation, as he is the Ultimate Lifeform in the hands of Gerald Robotnik and Black Doom. Shadow unleashes his rage in front of Gerald and Maria, to whom Gerald apologizes for what he has done to him, but holds him up with pride by acknowledging his strength along this path. Shadow tells a saddened Maria that these destructive powers will be taken care of and assures her that he will continue to fight.

To reassure Maria, he tells her what she wished for him to fulfill before she died, which was for everyone to have a chance to be happy. Shadow smiles at Maria and begins his journey to the Black Arms satellite to fight Black Doom. The first boss battle puts Shadow against Devil Doom, who is a transformed version of Black Doom with Doom’s Eye attached to him. After defeating Devil Doom, a new form takes over, as Neo Devil Doom. The battle ensues with Neo Devil Doom telling Shadow of what his lineage means to him and to accept his true nature, which Shadow declines to do.

The battle ends with Shadow letting Neo Devil Doom know that he chooses his own destiny and sends a ton of Doom Spears at him, then finishes the job by flying straight through Doom. As Shadow makes it back to the White Space, the darkness that consumed him begins to fade away. Rouge the Bat congratulates Shadow and tells him that Sonic is ready to confront the Time Eater, so Shadow gives Rouge the real Chaos Emerald that he switched out when Sonic took the “Chaos Emerald” from him after their battle on the ARK. Before Shadow goes to help Sonic, he tells Rogue that he’s got something else to take care of first.

Gerald and Maria are waiting for Shadow to arrive and as he does, Maria expresses her admiration for Shadow’s will, then falls to the floor. As Shadow approaches them, he notices that Gerald and Maria are beginning to fade away due to the time anomaly starting to heal, meaning that the two are going back to their own point in time. Shadow frantically tells them that he’ll go and stop Rouge from giving the emerald away, but before he leaves, Maria reassures him that it’ll be okay. She goes up to Shadow and says that she knows that they’ll see each other again and that if fate draws us apart, she will always be in his heart.

In his state of shock, Shadow begins to contemplate what he could do to save them, but as he is about to say something, both of them have accepted their fates and disappear. Shadow tries to repress his emotions and skates off to Rouge. He passes by her and as he does, a single teardrop lands on her face, which lets her know that there is still a light within the darkness of Shadow the Hedgehog.
