If you’re sick of using lockpicks inThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, then you’ll likely want to get the Skeleton Key. The Skeleton Key is incredibly useful, because, unlike lockpicks,it never breaks. This means that you basically have a lockpick that works every time, making normal lockpicks useless from that point on. As you might expect, actually getting the Skeleton Key can be a time-consuming process. However, it’s definitely worth the time and effort when you consider how powerful having a key to every lock can be.

How to Complete “Nocturnal” for the Skeleton Key

You pick up “Nocturnal” from Mor gra-Gamorn at theNocturnal Shrine northeast of Leyawiin. Then, you need to interact with the shrine that’s by Mor to get a quest that wants you to recover the Eye of Nocturnal, an item that’s been stolen by thieves. From here, enter Leyawiin and find the house that’s for sale. Across from that house, you’ll find Weebam-Na’s house. Enter Weebam-Na’s house and ask the NPCs inside about the Eye of Nocturnal.

Of course, they say they don’t know anything about the Eye. At this point, you need to use your sneaking skills. Sneak towards the door like you’re leaving, then wait and listen to them start talking again. They should mention that they’vehidden the Eye of Nocturnal in Tidewater Cave, which is to the southeast and will be marked on your map after you listen to them. If you don’t hear the dialogue about the Eye, then you’ll need to leave the house and try returning, which can prompt the NPCs to start talking about it again.

Once you get to Tidewater Cave, you need to head to thetunnel that’s filled with water. Start swimming along that path until you find an opening on your right—if you haven’t gone past it and turn around—where you can pick up the Eye of Nocturnal. After you have it, return to the Nocturnal Shrine to turn in the “Nocturnal” quest and receive the powerful Skeleton Key as your reward in Oblivion Remastered.
