The seaside town, Sanditon, is filled with ambitious and lively people looking for their own happiness. A girl from a quiet village comes to the fastly developing seaside town and gets tangled up in all its business. Romance, passion, and scandals – everything nicely packaged in the show’s total of 20 episodes.

Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams)
The young and naiveSanditonheroine is driven by her desire to help others. From the moment she steps into the seaside town, she has always wanted to help the town and its residents. Her persistence acts as her catalyst to being a grown-up in a new place, making her not afraid to let her voice be heard.
She has thousands of ideas in her head and is ready to start a new, exhilarating life in Sanditon. All this is not without problems, though. Her outburst of youth calls for love figures to fall on her lap, and not all is desired.

Miss Georgiana Lambe (Crystal Clarke)
Beingoutgoing and braveto speak her mind, Lambe is quickly drawn to Charlotte, with whom she feels an instant connection. Her father owned a sugar plantation in Antigua and asked Sidney Parker (Theo James) to take care of her as she moved to Sanditon.
Her caged-up life is not what she desires, being an heiress herself. She desires to control her own life and lives by her own rules. This fiery element in her often causes troubles, not limited to her love life as well.

Alexander Colbourne (Ben Lloyd-Hughes)
One of the young men who are Charlotte’s love candidates. The charming Alexander Colbourne is genuine and honest in his love for Charlotte. However, it is proven to be insufficient, especially amid the ton’s hustle and bustle.

Tom Parker (Kris Marshall)

He is described as a family man with an entrepreneurial soul who embraces everyone along the journey with him. But, one man’s dream can take a toll on his family – as too forceful ambition can kill what has blossomed.

Mary Parker (Kate Ashfield)
The great woman behind Tom Parker. Their marriage would have been a happy and fruitful one if only it wasn’t for Tom’s strong desire to build Sanditon.
She has to swallow the bitter pill that her beloved husband sometimes only has Sanditon in his head and heart. This truth may make her hate him a little bit, but it doesn’t necessarilymake her love him a little bit less. She loves him for his passionate self, after all.

Lady Denham (Anne Reid)
The most influential person in Sanditon, with endless fortune and might. She is one of the locals, therefore granting her knowledge and power over the residents of Sanditon. The mighty Lady Denham is described as strong-willed and old-fashioned. She knows her place, and she is determined to stay.
She is not where she is without meticulous planning, charm, and effort, having secured a profitable marriage. As described by the actress herself, Lady Denham went through difficulties to earn her wealth. Now that she has got it, it’s not going anywhere.

Sir Edward Denham (Jack Fox)
Edward Denham is one of Lady Denham’s relatives who is explicitly after her wealth. As her nephew, he thinks he has thegolden ticket to wealthand power, which will bring women to his side. He is one of those men in the era who will not hesitate to step on others to get what he wants.
Although seemingly confident, he is insecure inside. He desires to follow Lady Denham’s footprints – she married for money, and he also wants that for himself.

He lives under the shadows of his older siblings until he decides to crawl out of his shell and decide what he wants with his life.
