Dinosaur-based Pokemon are typically fan favorites for their designs and Amaura and Aurorus are certainly no different. The adorable Amaura and Aurorus were introduced into Pokemon GO in mid-2022 during an event that also saw the addition of fellow fossil Pokemon Tyrunt and Tyrantrum.

Amaura and Aurorus were originally introduced back in the Kalos region during Pokemon X and Y and quickly became popular as they were the only Rock/Ice-type Pokemon at the time. That has since changed with the arrival of Hisuian Avalugg, but they remained the only ones for a long time. Getting your Amaura to evolve to Aurorus has a few requirements though, and you’re going to want to know exactly what those are.

How To Get Amaura

Fossil Pokemon are usually some of the harder ones to find within Pokemon GO, with the more recent ones especially not appearing anywhere near as often in the wild. Amaura falls into that latter category for sure and has been a rare spawn since its debut last year.

To get an Amaura in Pokemon GO, the easiest way is usually through hatching eggs, as Amaura can sometimes be found in 7km eggs. However, as of the time of this writing, Amaura is not currently in the egg pool while the Mythical Wishes event is going on. This means whenever you are trying to get one, you will need to consult the current egg hatches to find out if this is a possibility.

If Amaura is not available in eggs, your only other options are going to be through catching it in the wild or getting lucky with an event featuring Field Research or other types of research that reward you with one. Unfortunately, Amaura is not a Pokemon you’ll typically find spawning in the wild very often, so hopefully, you’ve already gotten one in the past or you’re going to have to get lucky until it shows back up in 7km eggs.

How To Evolve Amaura Into Aurorus

For those that already have an Amaura, the next goal is obviously to evolve it into its evolution Aurorus. Aurorus is a very viable option in both the Great League and Ultra League in PvP, so managing to get one is something people will want to strive for.

To evolve Amaura into Aurorus, there are two requirements that you must meet. The first of these is that you need to earn50 Amaura Candyin some fashion, whether that is by catching or hatching Amaura or using Amaura as your buddy to earn Candy by walking. You can always also use Rare Candy in the game as well for this.

The other requirement that requires a lot less effort is thatit must be nighttime to evolveyour Amaura into Aurorus. Once you have collected the 50 required Candy, you can go to the Amaura that you want to evolve and select to evolve it during nighttime hours.
