Murray), mother Emily (Brit Shaw) and their young daughter Leila (Ivy George), who move into a new house that may have been awaiting their presence. Soon, the reappearance of missing siblings Kristi and Katie is all around them. And yes,Katie Featherstonwill return as Katie, the only character to appear in each film. This sequel will present footage shown through the spirit photography in 3D.

The beloved franchise started with directorOren Peli’s low-budget 2009 thrillerParanormal Activity, which cost just $15,000 to make and took in $193 million worldwide. The blockbuster was followed byParanormal Activity 2(2010),Paranormal Activity 3(2011),Paranormal Activity 4(2012) and the spinoffParanormal Activity: The Marked Ones(2014).Jason Blumrevealed thatParanormal Activity 5will answer questions that fans have been clamoring for, such as the family’s backstory and whatTobylooks like.

Gregory Plotkinmakes his directorial debut withParanormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, but the filmmaker has a long history with the franchise. He served as the editor onParanormal Activity 2,Paranormal Activity 3,Paranormal Activity 4andParanormal Activity: The Marked Ones, serving as co-producer on the last three films as well. He also co-producedOren Peli’s long-awaited directorial follow-upArea 51, which debuted earlier this year.
