The Whisper of the Worm is a unique Exotic with a selection of customizable perks. In this guide, I’ll show you what that means and how to unlock all Whisper of the Worm craftable perks in Destiny 2.
How to get craftable perks for the Whisper of the Worm
you’re able to earn craftable Perks by completing specific missions within The Whisper quest.These missions unlock each weekand are relatively straightforward, although theymust be completed on Legend difficulty. Enemies are tougher with the upgraded difficulty, but the most dramatic change is the timer.
Your time is slashed in half, from 40 minutes down to 20. Fortunately, there are no respawn restrictions, but every death costs precious seconds. Even with the increased difficulty, you may approach the entire mission as normal. Just keep in mind that the boss battles will take longer.
You can also upgrade the Whisper of the Worm’s Intrinsic Trait byfinding and destroying Oracles. Once you’ve reached all seven, you’ll upgrade the White Nail trait to level three(pictured above).
Best Whisper of the Worm perks
You’ll earn a respectable perk pool for the Whisper of the Worm, but two stand head and shoulders above the rest.Mulliganis a fantastic choice, as it has a chance to return ammo to the Magazine if you miss a shot.
If you’re like me and don’t like relying on chance,Field Prepmay be the better choice. Field Prep increases ammo reserves and improves handling when you’re crouching. The issue with Field Prep is you must make aconscious effort to crouch before shooting, but it’s still a decent perk.
How to craft weapons in Destiny 2
If you’re a new or returning player, let me explain how to craft weapons and change perks on your new Whisper of the Worm. Weapon crafting is done at theEnclave in Savathun’s Throne Worldon the Star Map. Keep in mind that you can’t access the Enclave until you’ve beaten the first mission of theWitch Queen DLC.
If you interact with the Relic structure underground, you’ll see the crafting menu (pictured above). If you select Shape, you can build any weapon available to you. You can also choose their perks, although some will be available only after you level up the weapon through general use. You can also increase weapon levels in their Perk Menu, which costs Glimmer and Enhancement Cores. Some guns are craftable right away, butmost require Weapon Patterns.
If you find a weapon with a red border,you can extract the Pattern from it. When you have five patterns from the same gun, you can craft it. Exotics, like the Whisper of the Worm are unique and only require a single Pattern to be extracted (pictured above).You can also Reshape, which lets you change perks on weapons you’ve previously shaped. You can do this as many times as you like, so feel free to experiment.Crafting is intuitive once you get the hang of it and offers some welcome depth to weapon building. Some of thestrongest weapons in the game are craftable, so it’s worth collecting every pattern you find.
