Contrary to what you might expect from the Grappling Hook of the Zelda franchise, Enshrouded’s Grappling Hook works more like an interaction type of item. Whenever there is a point at which you can throw your Grappling Hook up, you will be prompted to interact with it. Most of the time this will get you on top of vantage points and across a room, but the Grappling Hook can also allow you to swing from one place to another. Its main use was to get you up the Ancient Spire, but you will be able to use it later on in the game to take some shortcuts and unveil the occasional hidden secret.
As you can see, both crafting and using the Grappling Hook shouldn’t take you a lot of time or learning. Just don’t forget to equip it, otherwise it will remain in your Backpack forever.
