August has arrived, and although it unfortunately means we’re already halfway through summer, the good news is that it’s once again time to claim yourfree Kindle e-booksfor the month as an Amazon Prime member.

If you’re not aware, Amazon providesPrime memberswith free Kindle e-books every month via itsFirst Readsprogram. Each month on the first, Amazon refreshes its First Reads collection with a carefully selected range of new Kindle e-books across different genres. As a Prime member, you are eligible to claim one free Kindle e-book from this collection, along with a free bonus short read.

Once you claim your free Kindle e-books, they are yours to keep forever. If you’re looking toexpand your libraryevery month, Amazon’s First Reads program is an easy way to do so. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, it costs $15 monthly or $139 annually. You may even have a free trial available to use. How many books can your Kindle actually store?

From a 16GB base to a 32GB Signature Edition, here’s a breakdown of how much literature your device can actually store.

There are eight books to choose from

For August, Amazon’s First Reads program is offering eight different Kindle e-books to choose from. There are several genres available, so hopefully, there’s something that catches your interest. This month, some of the genres include historical fiction, romance, and psychological thriller.

While eight Kindle e-books are available, remember that you may only select one for free, so choose wisely. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member, you can still browse the First Reads collection. However, instead of the selected book being free, you’ll have to pay $2 for it, which isn’t a bad deal at all.

Additionally, this month’s free bonus short read is Bad Date: A Short Story by Ellery Lloyd, a New York Times bestselling author, which tells a “twisty short story about love, obsession, and deadly deceptions.”

If you don’t have Amazon Prime, besides being able to get a free Kindle e-book every month through First Reads, there are several other benefits, including fast and free shipping on a wide range of products, as well as access to Prime Video. If you haven’t tried it before, I recommend a free trial. If you don’t like it, you’re able to always easily cancel it.

You have all of August to claim this month’s free Kindle e-books. Come September, new books will become available, and you’ll be able to get another free Kindle e-book as an Amazon Prime member.
