It’s been a big week forLuke Cage, with series starMike Colterconfirming that the series will debut on September 30. Just a few days later, thefirst trailerdebuted on Netflix, hidden on the streaming service behind the final episode ofDaredevil Season 2. Over the weekend, filmmakerPaul McGuigan(Victor Frankenstein) teased on hisTwitterpage that he directed the first two episodes of this highly-anticipated series. While he’s best known as a filmmaker,Paul McGuiganhas also made his mark on the small screen as well.

The filmmaker has directed a number ofpilot episodesthroughout his career, including FX’s miniseries Thief, Lifetime’s Devious Maids, ABC’s Lucky 7 and ABC’s new seriesThe Family, which debuted earlier this month. He has also directed four episodes ofSherlock, plus episodes ofSmashandScandal. On the big screen, he most recently directedVictor Frankenstein, along with other films such asPush,Lucky Number Slevin,Wicker ParkandThe Reckoning.

A week ago today,Mike Colterrevealed thatLuke Cagewill debut onNetflixSeptember 30, during a red carpet interview at the Season 2 premiere ofDaredevil.

The supporting cast also includesRosario Dawson, reprising her role as Claire Temple, a.k.a. Night Nurse,Mahershala Alias Cottonmouth,Theo Rossias Sonny,Alfre Woodardas Black Mariah, Simone Missick as Misty Knight and Sonia Braga as Claire Temple’s mother. There will also be a number of surprise guest stars that have not been revealed at this time. It isn’t known who will joinLuke CagefromDaredevilandJessica Jones, or if it will help set upIron Fist.
