Square Enix has launched acountdown siteforFinal Fantasy XVthat seems to be teasing the series' iconic Moogles. A patchwork image of a Moogle silhouette is hanging out above a timer that is counting down to midnight EST.
In a survey way back in 2015, fans were asked if they wanted to see Moogles in FFXV and the response was an overwhelming yes. This may very well be the culmination of those replies. Adding to the speculation, was theFFXV Twitteraccount who had this to say when prodded by fans:
Moogles are creatures who debuted way back in Final Fantasy III and succeeded in capturing the hearts of players. They have since appeared in several iterations of the series and associated franchises like Kingdom Hearts, becoming almost synonymous with the game . We’ll monitor the countdown and update when the details are known.
In other reveals this week,Ring Magicwas shown off in anew videothat demonstrated itsDeath Spellproperties as it took down variousenemiesacross differentlocationsincluding theBandersnatch. With the game undergoing revisions that pushed it’s release back to November 29th for PS4 and Xbox One we can expect even more delectable reveals over the coming 2 months. Excited for Moogles? UPDATE: Well the countdown is now over and it seems it was Moogle related indeed. The page has been updated to reveal theMoogleas an in game item that the party can carry around as a lucky charm, and potentially get them out of bad spots.
In addition, the page announces a new social media campaign tocollect Mooglesby following the FFXV English and Japanese Twitter accounts. Every new follower adds to a counter that will unlock new digital rewards for players. Thoughts on the reveal? Let us know in the comments!
