Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist, the Metroidvania sequel to the acclaimedEnder Lilies: Quietus of the Knights (2021), now has a final release date. It will go on sale on January 22 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Ender Magnolialaunched in Steam Early Access on March 25, featuring the game’s first four zones and several boss fights.

This period has allowed the developers to tweak various gameplay aspects, taking into account feedback and suggestions from players, who have overwhelmingly praised the game with “extremely positive” reviews on Steam. All signs point to this being another must-play Metroidvania for fans of the genre.

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mistis set decades after Ender Lilies and takes place in Humelia, a kingdom of mages that thrived thanks to the abundance of arcane materials.

It stars Lilac, a young woman with the special ability to tune into homunculi and restore their sanity, as she embarks on a mission to uncover the secrets behind the calamity and find allies to aid in her cause.

The gameplay once again offers classic 2D Metroidvania mechanics, with combat, platforming, and exploration, allowing players to freely roam a kingdom divided into different sectors and social strata.

The wide variety of environments includes abandoned cities, laboratories, arcane academies, and towering factories, all forming a massive interconnected map. In these locations, players must fight enemies to free their souls and gain new allies, offering more than 30 unique abilities to customize their combat style.

Steam

Version 1.0 promises 35 hours of content, with new bosses to purify, new skills to combine for personalized playstyles, and mysterious biomes to explore. A physical release is planned, with details to be announced later.
