InElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, there are quite a few number of hidden bosses spread throughout the land. In fact, the player only needs to face a couple to get to the final boss, with there always being alternate routes. This is one of the best things about Elden Ring, giving the player the option to pick and choose how they adventure. Regardless, there’s one boss hidden beneath the church district in theShadow Keepthat requires a couple of steps in order to get to it.
Church District - Shadow Keep
For starters, you’ll need to purge the church district of the Shadow Keep of its flooding. To do this, you’ll need to traverse the rooftops of a couple of ruined structures, avoiding the exploding fire men and the fire knights. You will then get to the top of the main structure in the area, at which point the goal is to drop safely onto an arch inside the building through a hole in the roof. Drop down once more to find some fire knights patrolling the narrow halls. Follow left outside and across a rickety bridge to find bats. Continue forward until you come across a ladder, and in which case there is a crank that will remove the water from the area.

Called Rebirth in Elden Ring, the ability to Respec comes fairly early on in your adventure, and isn’t a big hassle. She’s just a medium-sized hassle.
Now that the area below is free, head on down and pick up the grace nearby. Continue until you reach the large tree in the area, but be warned, if you get too close to it, anUlcerated Tree Spiritwill appear – there are actually two in this small area. Instead, head up the stairs and onto the first floor of the building you first came through with the patrolling fire knights.
This will have unlimited spawning fire men who will hurl themselves at you and explode, and a single fire knight in the back left of where you enter. You can find a Fire Knight’s Seal behind the statue in the room directly parallel to where you enter, but instead, what you want to do is head up and to the right. Pass through a couple of doors and come across two sets of staircases and a door below.
Into the Depths
Head on through the closed door below and down the elevator. Here you’ll come across a cave and a rickety-looking bridge. Simply cross to the other side, and you’ll come across a little prayer room with anIris of Occultationbelow the statue. Head down the stairs behind it and come across the grace.
You will notice outside is full of muck left over by the Erdtree, but in reality, this is where you will be facing off against theScadutreee Avatar, a multiphased boss that hits hard, but takes a lot of damage in the process.
