The Archistaff and Greatsword are weapons that are required to unlock the Sorcerer and Warrior Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, some players might be stuck on the quest “Vocation Frustration” as these items seem to be nowhere to be found.
We’ve got guides on their locations, but you may be stuck nonetheless. We came across a snag in progression and it felt like a game-breaking bug making it impossible to unlock the Sorcerer and Warrior Vocations.

Can’t Find Greatsword or Archistaff
You may already know that you are supposed to get the “Two Hander” greatsword and the “Grievous Horns” archistaff from Trevo Mine. Both can be found from chests within the mine.
However, If you happen to have lost your Twohander Greatsword or your Grievous Horns Archistaff, possibly by discarding it or selling it, you have no way of getting these items back. Unfortunately, the chests in Trevo Mine will remain empty even if you no longer have the item. The scrap vendor in Chestpoint Rest Town will not have the items either, unless they were specifically stolen from you. If you sold them to a vendor, they are gone forever.
There is a way to still complete the quest and unlock the voacations though, so don’t fret. you may still purchase these weapons at a specific vendor in Checkpoint Rest Town. Some of these weapons are quite pricey, so be aware of this before traveling and making a purchase.

Purchase whichever ones you need, and you will need to bring it with you back to Vernworth to complete the quest by handing the weapon to the Vocation Guild attendant. Here, you will be able to finally unlock your sorcerer or warrior vocation to be used.
After completing the Vocation Frustration quest for both items, the stock at the weapon shop in Vernworth will be restocked so you can buy weapons from these vocations.
