Summary

Bunny was the one who came out on top afterMayor of Kingstownseason 2’s deal with the gangs, but his story arc in season 3 raises many doubts about his standing remaining the same. Season 3 began withMayor of Kingstownseason 3’s new partnershipcausing chaos within Bunny’s organization, dismantling his drug distribution, and prompting Raphael to make an expensive deal with another gang so that the Crips could still sell non-contaminated drugs inside Anchor Bay. New arrivals and returns threatened Bunny, but onlyMayor of Kingstownseason 3, episode 5 confirmed the extent of Bunny’s problems.

Mayor of Kingstownpresented various challenges for Bunny, with the prison riots in season 1 dismantling his gang’s hierarchy within the prisons and season 2 delivering him to Anchor Bay so that order could return to Kingstown. However, Bunny’s problems didn’t stop there, after AB-affiliated correctional officers threatened and beat him up, making Mike go out of his way to protect him and keep his end of the deal. However,Mayor of Kingstownseason 3’s beginning established Bunny’s relative safety, going as far as letting him self-proclaim a “formidable monster,” before introducing the biggest threat for him to date.

Bunny’s Belief That He Still Has Power In Mayor Of Kingston Is Misguided

Bunny’s Reaction May Very Well Show His & Konstantin’s Leagues Are Different

Learning that Russian mafia boss Konstantin Noskov was behind the Crips’ contaminated drugs immediately prompted Bunny’s violent reaction inMayor of Kingstownseason 3, episode 5.The Crips’ punitive raid against Noskov’s Cavo bar almost took out Mike, who was there to discuss precisely Konstantin’s involvement in contrasting Bunny’s operation, and didn’t even cause Konstantin to falter, instead prompting him to compare Bunny’s gang to animals. While Bunny’s actions undoubtedly let his thoughts about the ordeal be known, they also didn’t dent Konstantin’s operation, nor did they scare him, highlighting how different the two criminals were.

Mayor of Kingstownseason 3, episode 5’s ending finally warned Mike of the Russian mafia’s deal with AB, showing how far Konstantin’s schemes had continued unchecked. However,Konstantin’s relentless attention to his deals also showed how much he and Bunny were in different leagues. While Bunny had thought hitting Cavo would have let Konstantin know he should back down, as similar actions would have inspired such a reaction from other gangs, Konstantin’s operation went on without a glitch, proving Bunny’s knee-jerk reaction as myopic as Konstantin’s plans continued without the smallest hitch.

How Bunny’s Hubris Risks Being His Downfall In Mayor Of Kingstown Season 3

Mayor of Kingstownseason 3’s premiere presented Bunny as someone sure of his good luck and power, with the gang leader talking to Mike straight away about his ambitions beyond Kingstown. While Bunny badgered Mike to uncover who was behind the contaminated drugs, he rarely thought his entire operation could have been in danger, instead patting himself on the back for the idea of having a spy in the form of his cousin the correctional officer within Anchor Bay. Bunny evidently underestimated Konstantin, or he wouldn’t have considered the matter of the contaminated drugs ended.

Mayor Of Kingstown’s Bombing Aftermath Sets Up The Payoff For A Major Season 3 Mike Tease

The chaos brought forth by the KPD bombings put Callahan right where he wanted to be, making 1 Mike tease from the trailer easier to happen.

Bunny’s hubris might be the thing that will decrease the Crips’ importance as a gang in Kingstown, as he didn’t attentively evaluate how big of a threat Konstantin’s organization was.Bunny’s reaction is completely out of character compared to his attitude inMayor of Kingstownseason 2, when he was rightfully afraid of what it meant to be in prisonand how that could have meant enemies would have come for him. Hopefully,Mayor of Kingstownseason 3 can still save Bunny, or it will risk his complete fall from grace due to Callahan and Noskov.
