Diablo Immortal Now Also Coming to PC

For PC the version releasing will be an open beta test, but sets to include all game content and features, and any progress made will carry over to the final version. The mobile version will release on both Android and iOS devices.

You may be wondering why the game has been brought to PC.Diablo Immortal’s announcement was far from well-receivedoriginally, when it took center stage at BlizzCon 2018, when PC fans were expecting a main series Diablo game, instead of a “do you guys not have phones?” response.

According to a press briefing when asked the reason behind the decision to bring Diablo Immortal to PC, Cheng explained that there were “a lot of players ask for a PC version or talk about a PC version” and also having interest to somehow emulate the game on PC, which led to Blizz decide to bring it also to PC officially themselves because of this interest.

“We are still making the game as a mobile-first game, but since our goal is to reach as many players as possible, being on both mobile and PC is the best way to do that.”

This wasn’t the only reason behind this, the general franchise manager Rob Fergusson shared further details about how the alpha/beta testers ended playing for much longer periods of time, rather in short bursts which is more common with mobile games. They were spending between three to hours long, so letting people be able to play at their desks on a larger screen made more sense.

When Diablo Immortal was originally announced, Blizzard made it clear that there were no plans to bring it to mobile. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore as they have seen how fans have reacted to the game and want to add another way to play, not just on mobile. This also sparks questions of whether this will be brought to further platforms in future.
