Filming superhero movies aren’t always easy. Some would even say it takes balls to get into a harness and be hoisted through the air.David Corenswetknows this more than most as he revealed the unexpected bruising he sustained around a very delicate area while filming one particular scene inSuperman.
Supermanis soaring in cinemas, but during one epic scene of the movie, Corenswet found himself getting bruised in the one place even the Man of Steel doesn’t want to be bruised. The actor revealed details of the wince-inducing injury while taking part inVanity Fair’s lie-detector test, when he was asked by costarNicholas Houltwhere his “wildest bruise” was from being harnessed up for his flying scenes. Corenswet said:

“My right testicle. It’s this wonderfully epic moment, where I stand up and punch the glass out, and then I leap out the window and fly through the air. And on the first take of that, it’s this big, epic punch and a leap through the air, and then just – my testicle!”
Fans Cannot Agree on One Controversial ‘Superman’ Moment That “Goes Against” the Man of Steel’s Code
James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ has been gaining strong reviews, but has still caused several online debates.
After a moment of doubt about whether Corenswet was telling the truth, the lie-detector results were revealed to be “truthful.” The story of the harness misfire clearly struck a chord with Hoult, who joked, “I want to ask you more questions about your testicles, but I don’t know where to go that’s appropriate. “

‘Superman’ Gets Plenty of Bruises in James Gunn’s DCU Movie
From the first trailers forSuperman, it became clear that this version of the Son of Krypton wasa long way from Henry Cavill’s iterationin many ways. This included the opening scenes of Corenswet’s hero lying bloody and battered in the ice, requiring assistance from Krypto to get back to his Fortress of Solitude and heal himself.
That moment became incredibly controversial for some fans who have grown accustomed to seeingSupermanas a god-like being that is pretty much immune to any kind of physical harm. However, James Gunn was quick to set down the ground rules for this new iteration of the character, including that he does bleed. Speaking previously, Gunn said:

“We do have a battered Superman in the beginning. That is our country. I believe in the goodness of human beings, and I believe that most people in this country, despite their ideological beliefs, their politics, are doing their best to get by and be good people — despite what it may seem like to the other side, no matter what that other side might be. This movie is about that. It’s about the basic kindness of human beings, and that it can be seen as uncool and under siege [by] some of the darker voices are some of the louder voices.”
It is clear that the early discourse around this scene has not lasted very long.Superman’sreviews have been almost unanimously positive, and the box office is proving that footfall is passing through cinemas in huge volumes. The future of the DCU now seems set in stone, and up next arePeacemakerSeason 2 on HBO Max andSupergirlin cinemas next summer.
