XDefianthas a plethora of guns to choose from, but players must first complete challenges to unlock them. A recurring challenge is to get a certain amount of point-blank kills — here’s the best way to do it.
XDefiant: Best way to get Point-Blank kills
The range for a point-blank kill in XDefiant is much smaller than you would normally see in other first-person shooters. The best way to describe it is that you must bewithin melee rangeof your opponent for it to count as a point-blank kill. With that in mind, you want to verify youtackle this challenge on one of the smaller maps available. This will increase your chances of getting close enough to your opponent for the kill to count as a point-blank.
I recommend the map “Arena,” which is one of the smallest maps available at launch. Not only is the map small, but it also has tons of cover to help keep you alive while you focus on getting the point-blank kills for the challenges.

Once you are on a small-sized map, getting point-blank kills boils down torushing into your opponentwhere they’re spawning or the objective point they’re holding. The two best modes to do this on are eitherDominationorOccupy, where your opponents will be focusing on capturing a certain location (objective).

Getting point-blank kills in XDefiant is crucial if you want to unlocksome of the best gunsin the game. As of right now, three guns can be unlocked through point-blank kills. Below are all the guns that require you to get point-blank kills and the amount needed.
The MP7 is one of my personal favorites in XDefiant and I highly recommend you attempt the challenge to unlock it. You will not regret it. You’ll also notice that some guns require you toget hipfire killsas well, so check out our guide on the best way to do that.
