There aren’t a lot of players who run the HCR 56 inModern Warfare 2, and for that reason, it can be hard to tell what works best on the light machine gun. Overall, it’s a decent weapon, but it falls flat compared to counterparts such as the MX9 submachine gun and the STB 556 assault rifle.

While it may not stand up as well as the rest of the weapon tree, there are some decent base benefits to using the HCR 56. By default, the barrel already works well, and we can work to make the LMG more like an AR with plenty of stability. In this MW2 loadout guide, we’ll go over everything you need to make that happen.

Modern Warfare 2 – Best HCR 56 Loadout

The HCR 56 light machine gun acts much more like a slowed-down STB 556 rather than an MX9. We want to build around that idea and capitalize on the damage range and control this LMG has. Meanwhile, adding some mobility will be important. All of the attachments you need can be found below.

Recoil control is the main focus for our first two attachments. TheFTAC Castle Compand theVX Pineappleare used to make consistent firing at range much easier to pull off. Without a barrel attachment, the HCR 56 could use some help with control, and these are perfect options in that regard.

After the control options, we want to focus on the mobility of the LMG. Both the30 Round Magand theBruen Q900 Gripwill ensure that movement and ADS speed is much higher. You’ll lose some ammunition capacity in the process, but a 40 Round Mag can be supplemented instead if you find issues with 30.

The last attachment is theCronen Mini Prooptic. Any optic that you prefer can be used, but a reflex sight is going to be your best bet in Modern Warfare 2. If you like the HCR 56 iron sights, you’re able to always add a laser sight as well.
