Best Charge Blade Skills in MHWilds- InMonster Hunter Wilds, the satisfying gameplay loop of hunting monsters to get loot to craft stronger gear to hunt strongermonstersmakes a grand return. And with this grand return also comes the return of a variety of skills that come with the equipment you will be forging and using in your hunts.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, there are a total of 148Skillsthat have unique effects, and each one of them is helpful in a particular aspect when you are playing the game. A lot of the skills that were in the previous games make a return with a few newly added skills.

The biggest change to skills in Monster Hunter Wilds is that some of the Equipment skills that were on the armor pieces in the previous games have been moved to the weapons. This particular change makes it so that you will not be locked into specific monster trees when using a particular weapon.
In this guide, we will be taking a look at the skills that will bring out theCharge Blade’sfull potential during your hunts.

The Charge Blade is a very technical weapon that can morph between Sword and Shield mode and Axe mode, offering a decent defensive option along with easy access to both strong physical and elemental damage, depending on the phials it uses. Since the Charge Blade relies on its ability to morph between two forms and use its phials either to buff yourself or to deal massive bursts of damage, the best skills for the Charge Blade focus on enhancing this playstyle even further.

Best Tier Skills for the Charge Blade
The best skills to have in your inventory when using the Charge Blade are Rapid Morph, Load Shells, Power Prolonger, Resentment, and Flayer. The Rapid Morph, Load Shells, and Power Prolonger skills are equipment skills available on Weapons, while the Resentment and Flayer skills are equipment skills that can be found on armor pieces.
Rapid Morph
Rapid Morph– The Rapid Morph skill increases the rate at which your weapon morphs between forms and boosts Morph attack damage by +20% at the highest level (level 3). This skill is excellent for the Charge Blade because you will be switching forms frequently and using the morph slash often during hunts. This skill increases the damage of Elemental Discharge in axe mode after charging your phials, or Elemental Roundslash after an Elemental Discharge by up to 20%, helping you deal significant damage to monsters regardless of the mode you choose.
Load Shells– The next skill, Load Shells, improves reloading by increasing the gunlance’s shell capacity and the Charge Blade’s phial capacity. For the Charge Blade, this means it takes fewer hits to accumulate the energy required to charge your phials. At level 2, this skill even allows you to charge all your phials while they are in the yellow state, shortening the time and number of attacks needed to charge up the phials. This enables you to initiate your Elemental Discharge attacks more quickly, ultimately increasing your overall damage output since Elemental Discharge attacks are among the strongest moves in the Charge Blade’s moveset.

Power Prolonger
Power Prolonger– Another excellent skill for the Charge Blade is Power Prolonger. This skill extends the duration of the weapon’s powered-up states. Since the Charge Blade has three powered-up states—for the axe, the shield, and the sword—this skill is invaluable in your loadout. you may only perform the Super Amped Elemental Discharge finisher if both your shield and axe are powered up and have at least three phials. Power Prolonger extends the window in which you can execute the Super Amped Elemental Discharge before needing to recharge either part of your weapon.
Resentment
Resentment– The Resentment skill increases your attack when you have recoverable damage (the red portion of your Health Gauge). At maximum level (level 5), this skill boosts your attack by +25 when active. This skill works particularly well with the Charge Blade because you will often be hit by the monster’s attacks while executing your Amped Elemental Discharge moves, which have longer animations. Whenever you have red recoverable damage in your health gauge, Resentment increases your attack, thereby boosting your overall damage during hunts.
Flayer– The Flayer skill is an end-game ability that makes it easier to inflict Wounds and adds to the weapon’s non-elemental damage, which is why I’ve included it in this Best Charge Blade Skills in MHWilds Guide. This skill increases your flat damage output further, not only through the non-elemental damage boost but also by increasing the frequency of Wounds you’re able to destroy, leading to massive overall damage.

When putting together these skills, although it can be challenging to assemble the exact combination you want, decoration slots and a talisman will help you obtain the desired skills for your Charge Blade more easily.
Tier II Skills
This next set of skills will help the Charge Blade user increase their damage output but compared to the skills in the best tier, these skills will not increase the damage output to the same levels, but are still worth mentioning in this Best Charge Blade Skills in MHWilds Guide.
Offensive Guard
Offensive Guard– The Offensive Guard skill temporarily increases your attack power after executing a perfect guard. At maximum level (level 3), it boosts your attack by up to 15%. Since you’re able to perform perfect guards in sword mode, this skill will help increase your damage output. However, more often than not, the boost from this skill will expire while you are in axe mode, waiting for the opportune moment to unleash your Elemental Discharge attacks, which makes it less ideal for the Charge Blade then some other skills.
Artillery– The Artillery skill strengthens explosive attacks, and for the Charge Blade, it increases the strength of explosive phial attacks. This boost enhances the damage of your Elemental Discharge when you have phials charged up. Since this attack is the Charge Blade’s primary source of high damage, Artillery significantly contributes to your overall damage output.

Partbreaker
Partbreaker– The Partbreaker skill increases the damage you deal to the monster’s weak parts (for example, the head and the tail) and further boosts the damage when you destroy Wounds inflicted on a monster during a hunt. This skill is outstanding for the Charge Blade, as it offers a respectable increase in damage output. However, it isn’t in the best tier because the relatively long wind-up time of Elemental Discharge attacks makes it challenging for the Charge Blade to reliably target weak spots if the monster is not toppled.
Element Attack
Element Attack– Since elemental damage can play a huge role in the Charge Blade’s performance depending on the type of phial you are using, employing the corresponding elemental attack skill (for example, Fire Attack, Water Attack, Dragon Attack, etc.) will help increase your overall damage output when using the Charge Blade.
Critical Element
Critical Element– The Critical Element skill increases your elemental damage when landing critical hits with your strikes. Since about half of the Charge Blade’s damage can be elemental in nature depending on the phial you use, this skill can boost your damage output if you favor critical hit-based loadouts during your hunts.
Other Optional Skills to use with the Charge Blade
In addition to the above mentioned skills, these skills can help the player while they are farming for the parts needed to get the skills they want to use with their loadouts.
Attack Boost
Attack Boost– The Attack Boost skill is a good option if you don’t have the decorations needed for your favorite skills yet. The raw stat increase provided by this skill helps during your hunts by increasing your overall physical damage output.
Defense Boost
Defense Boost– The Defense Boost skill provides excellent defensive value if you find yourself getting hit by the monster more often than desired during your combos. With a +35 defense boost, an additional +10% increase to your overall defense, and +5 elemental resistance, this skill makes you much more tanky and improves your overall survivability during hunts.
Critical Status
TheCritical Statusskill can also be very useful especially if you are using a charge blade with a high base affinity and a status effect phial as this skill can rapidly build up the status ailment with your critical hits.
So, these are the best skills to use with the Charge Blade in bringing out its full potential in my opinion. I hope you find this helpful.
