Finnish mobile games developer Rovio announced earlier in the month plans to bring its social Facebook game,Angry Birds Friends, to iOS and Android devices. Today, developers confirmed on Twitter thatAngry Birds Friendswill be hitting iOS and Android devices this coming Thursday, May 2, a year following its launch on Facebook in May 2012. Because it’s being conceived with a strong social aspect to it,Angry Birds Friendswill let you invite friends to play, create bird avatars, gift power ups to friends and more. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the native mobile edition ofAngry Birds Friendswill require Facebook Connect.

And per Rovio’sprevious announcement, there are also weekly tournaments for the bronze, silver and gold crown on the levels, daily rewards and more.
Rovio has been milking theAngry Birdsfranchise for all it’s worth.
All together, theAngry Birdstitles have seen nearly two billion downloads across platforms, helping Rovio report 2012 sales of $195 million, with a net profit of $71 million.
A whopping 45 percent of Rovio’s revenue now comes from merchandising and the four major games that it released in 2012.
